Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park does not prohibit you to walk your dog in the park. However, in order to maintain public safety and a clean environment, please do “walk your dog on a leash, and clean up the poo.” When walking your dog please clean up after your dog to keep the park clean and safe for other visitors.
Can I ride a bike or electric vehicle in Taichung Metropolitan Park? Can I ride a scooter or drive a car around the park?
Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park has laid out routes and designated lanes for cycling. Non-designated areas are marked with ‘no-entry’ signs. With the exception of authorized staff, riding or driving electric vehicles, scooters or cars is not allowed in the park.

Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park has two designated areas for flying kites: one on the Sun Meadow on the west side, the other at the Moon Gazing Corridor on the east side. Anywhere else in the park it is not permitted to fly kites for the safety of other visitors.

Answer: (1) Visitors are welcome to have a picnic in the park. However, it is not allowed to have a BBQ or cook with gas, in order to prevent fire hazard and protect the park’s trees, lawns and facilities. If you wish to eat hot food, please bring your prepared food in an insulated container, and do keep the park clean. (2) To maintain the park’s esthetics and quality it is not allowed to set up tents, windbreaks or beach shelters in the park.

Please go to the Taichung Metropolitan Park website http://taichungmp.cpami.gov.tw/, click service items, and fill out the reservation form two weeks before your intended visit (we need to find a volunteer guide for you, this takes some time). 2.After the management has viewed your request, you will be notified by telephone or email. *The number of participants for this service is limited to one to four groups of a maximum of 20 persons each. You’ll have to stay in the park for at least two hours (each tour takes 60-90 minutes). *time slots for pre-arranged tours: Tuesdays to Sundays 9:00-11:00 and 14:00-16:00 hours (this includes a tour and movie viewing; the visitor center is closed on Mondays).

How do I become a volunteer with Taichung Metropolitan Park?
Answer: From time to time, Taichung Metropolitan Park recruits volunteers through publicizing its volunteer training program. After an open selection, initial screening and an interview you will be notified of the result. If you’ve passed the interview you will need to take training and do an internship. After a positive evaluation you will be an official volunteer of Taichung Metropolitan Park.

Answer: On holidays Taichung Bus line 146 goes to Taichung Metropolitan Park, running from Xinmin High School, via Taichung Railway Station, along Taichung Metropolitan Park, toward its terminal station at Yuandong Street near the park. Officially the bus doesn’t stop at Taichung Metropolitan Park, but when boarding the bus you may ask the driver to drop you off at Taichung Metropolitan Park.
